Located near Killeen, Texas, and the Killeen Regional Airport, Tara Farms was established in 2006 as a family-run game ranch with trophy whitetail deer and record book exotics that can offer anyone the hunting trip of a lifetime. With experienced guides, Texas Big Game Awards and Record Book of Exotics scorers, and a walk-in cold storage facility, Tara Farms offers everyone a quality experience while making sure your trophy is cared for from the field to the freezer. Whitetail Trophy Hunts

With plentiful numbers of 160-190 class bucks, trophy Whitetail hunts range from $5000 - $10,000 with a no hidden trophy fees; this includes two does. All hunts require a State of Texas Hunting License; however, Tara Farms will provide you with a MLD permit. Trophy Whitetail hunts will include transportation to and from the Killeen Regional Airport, food, lodging, a guide, use of our walk-in cooler, and cleaning/caping/quartering of your animal. If you wish, we know trusted taxidermists and we can deliver your trophy to them. 

160 - 179 Class $5000

180 - 199 Class $8000

200 Class and above $10,000

Whitetail hunts require a $2500 deposit; the balance is due after you harvest* your animal. If you do not harvest an animal on your hunt, we will refund you $1500 of your deposit. 

*If any blood is drawn on an animal, Tara Farms will consider that to be a harvested animal.

 

Management Whitetail Hunts

Tara Farms have a limited number of management whitetail hunts at $3500. These hunts will include one management buck that is three years of age or more, with 10 points or less in the 130 - 150 range. An additional doe is not included, but may be available at no additional fee. 

Management Whitetail hunts will include transportation to and from the Killeen Regional Airport, food, lodging, a guide, use of our walk-in cooler, and cleaning/caping/quartering of your animal. Management whitetail hunts require a $1750 deposit up front and the balance of $1750 being due after you harvest* your animal. If you do not harvest an animal on your hunt, we will refund you $1500 of your deposit.

 $2500 Management Hunt Specials on select animals are available as a one-day hunt.

*If any blood is drawn on an animal, Tara Farms will consider that to be a harvested animal.

 

Guide's Choice Whitetail Hunts

At times, Tara Farms has special whitetail hunts at $1500. These hunts include one buck that is 3 years of age or more, with less than 10 points and up to a 130 class animal. An additional doe is not included, but may be available at no additional fee. 

Meals are not included in a Guide's Choice hunt, but are available at $100 per day. Lodging, transportation to and from the Killeen Regional Airport, a guide, use of walk-in cooler, and cleaning/caping/quartering of your animal are available at no additional charge. 

Guide's Choice whitetail hunts require a $750 deposit and the balance of $750 being due after you harvest* your animal. If you do not harvest an animal on your hunt, we will refund $500 of your deposit.

exotics hunt

  • Aoudad $2,200 

  • Blackbuck Antelope $2,200 

  • Axis Deer $3,500 

  • Other exotics can be requested P.O.R.

If a hunter is only hunting exotics, Tara Farms requires half of the hunt as a down payment with the other half due upon harvest. If you do not harvest an animal, all of the deposit will be refunded. We have access to other ranches and breeders that can provide you with a hunting experience for other exotic species upon request.

Meals are not included for our exotic hunts, but available at $100 per day. Lodging, transportation to and from the Killeen Regional Airport, a guide, use of walk-in cooler, and cleaning/caping/quartering of your animal are available at no additional charge.

Spring Turkey Hunts

We have a limited number of three-day spring turkey hunts available during Texas turkey season. Turkey hunts are $650, require a State of Texas hunting license with a turkey stamp, and include one male turkey, transportation to and from the Killeen Regional Airport, a guide, lodging, and meals.

Turkey hunts require a $350 deposit due upon booking with the balance of $300 being due upon harvesting* a bird. If a hunter does not harvest a bird, deposits will not be refunded.
